POSITION SUMMARY: The Energy Consultant will be responsible for contacting and closing sales leads from a variety of sources, including company-generated leads as well as their own leads generated from canvassing, referrals and other field marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of closing residential solar sales at a high rate of success. The candidate will also be willing and capable of following closed leads through the sales pipeline from presentation to installation and beyond. The Energy Consultant role is an outside sales position paid on a commission basis for sales made by the Energy Consultant. The Energy Consultant role is part-time, and the Energy Consultant will be expected to work no more than 29 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Engage with homeowners who have scheduled appointments and work to close solar energy system sales at the potential customers' homes
- Self-generated sales leads through referrals, canvassing, field marketing efforts and other sources
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of Freedom Forever's solar products, financing options, and incentives to effectively address customer inquiries.
- Conduct thorough consultations with potential customers, understanding their energy needs and customizing solar solutions to meet those needs.
- Skillfully handle objections and concerns to provide reassurance and information that leads to a sale.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of sales transactions and customer information in Freedom Forever's CRM system.
- Maintain post-sale relationships with customers and provide ongoing support and assistance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and sales techniques through ongoing training provided by the company
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of solar sales experience preferred
- 2+ years of customer service experience preferred
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are required
- Must be able to operate a computer and other communications equipment (i.e. phone, instant messaging, video conferencing, email, etc.)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a professional and effective manner, both verbally and written
- Maintain tact and professionalism when dealing with difficult/irate people and those in stressful situations
- Follow written and verbal directions, policies, and procedures
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- Develop and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with others
- Basic clerical and typing skills.
- Ability to actively listen and comprehend callers' requests and assist with any questions
- Must be able to communicate clearly and in a positive demeanor on the phone
- Ability to multitask
- Computer literate and typing skills of at least 35 words per minute
- Excellent communication, customer service, attention to detail and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress in a high-level environment
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Must be highly organized and able to multitask on several projects at a time
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
