CCJM is currently seeking a dynamic thought leader to head up its Energy Efficiency & Commissioning Engineering group. The minimum qualifications will be a degreed engineer or architect with at least five to seven years applied energy modeling and commissioning work experience, cumulatively. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong mechanical design background and in-depth controls and construction knowledge with at least five years of applied design experience. LEED AP with specialization certification is also required with experience completing and uploading HVAC related credit worksheets on LEED certified projects.Position Responsibilities
- Interact with client staff and principals, construction managers & construction trades
- Review and optimize building control systems and EMS performance
- Conduct site observations and analyze mechanical systems
- Review construction documents and develop checklists, tests, and plans
- Conduct commissioning meetings and facilitate issue resolution
- Observe third party testing, equipment start-up and direct/conduct functional testing
- Develop protocols for, and perform, measurement and verification
- Develop clear and concise reports that convey information in narrative checklist and tabular form
- Manage assigned projects to deliver a quality service on time, and on budgetRequired Technical Credentials/Skills
- BS or MS degree in mechanical or architectural engineering; other degrees will be considered
- Commissioning Industry Certification (CxA, CxPP, CBCP or CPMP)
- LEED AP accreditation with specialization (BD+C, ID+C and/or O&M)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the jurisdiction of the office
- Expertise with eQuest and Trane Trace 700, proficiency with other software
- Documented successful management of commissioning projects
- In-depth understanding of the building construction process, HVAC, electrical & BAS
- Able to inspect and functionally test energized equipment and diagnose problems
- Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and controls
- Ability to obtain and analyze field data and building automation system trend data
- Thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to compile financial and statistical analyses
- Successful facilitation of commissioning team meetingsRequired Communications and Management Skills
