Job Description
AECOM has a position available for an Energy Engineer to join our growing Energy Team. The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of mechanical systems in large buildings and a demonstrated skill for developing energy efficiency solutions by employing data analytics. In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering smart energy projects that leverage the use of data analytics to identify, analyze, and specify energy reduction measures.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Demonstrating the ability to identify energy reduction opportunities through the analysis of large data sets is key to this position.Interface with the customer to identify project/scope needs and communicate engineering solutions.Conducting Energy Audits and site Investigations.Identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with Lighting, HVAC Systems, Energy Management and Control Systems and Building Envelope.Analyze utility data to determine customer energy performance parameters and develop applicable rate structures used for cost savings calculations.Perform energy calculations using temperature-bin analysis methods and building energy modeling simulations to quantify energy conservation measures (ECMs).Develop cost estimates associated with ECMs.Write technical scopes of work for subcontractors.Write detailed ECM and technical approach descriptions to be included in proposal submissions.Leading client project meetings to inform stakeholders' understanding of data analysis output.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or education.4 years of relevant experience must include knowledge of the energy services industry and complex HVAC systems.Valid US Driver's License, and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.Independently Conducting Energy Audits and site Investigations.Energy conservation projects associated with Lighting, HVAC Systems.Energy Management and Control Systems and/or performing energy calculations.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience that includes any of these industries is desired: Federal government, utilities, advanced manufacturing and/or life sciences.CEM (Certified Energy Manager) is a plus.Fluency with Microsoft Office products.Experience analyzing renewable energy systems.Related experience and familiarity with energy policy, regulation, and economics is a plus.Prefer candidates with demonstrated client facing experience able to effectively communicate with and listen to clients and internal business groups.Candidates with general knowledge of the financial, technical and political aspects driving both the energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart energy and utility industries and energy infrastructure development is preferred.Experience with energy savings performance contracting, GHG inventorying/carbon accounting, electric transmission pricing and RTO operations, utility rate design and modeling is desired.Modeling/Coding Experience: Energy modeling software experience (eQUEST, Energy Plus, Trane Trace, etc.), R/Shiny, etc. desired.Familiarity with fault detection and diagnostic analytics platforms, including integration with building automation systems and related programming experience (ex. Python) is preferred.Additional Information
