Wendel is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to join our Energy Practice Area as an Energy Engineer in our Hauppauge, NY Office. This individual will support the Energy groups many different project types while working in a team environment. Providing energy calculation support, field verification and data collection of existing building energy systems and development of energy assessment reports and studies. The individual will be able to lead energy projects with support from junior Engineers from inception to completion. Energy Engineers work on the development of comprehensive and investment grade energy audits to create various energy conservation measures (ECMs) across a variety of client sectors and facility types. This includes data collection, utility bill disaggregation and benchmarking. Engineers conduct field visits, work on energy calculations, and develop energy measure descriptions with detailed work scope packages including cost estimates and contractor pricing. Energy Engineers also excel at report writing, creating project design documents, and the development of measurement and verification plans with contract documents. Energy Engineers assist the project management team with design, bidding, and construction of these Energy Efficiency related projects. Qualifications:
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in technical areas (i.e., lighting, HVAC, solar, other renewables).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is ideal.
- Certified Energy Manager in Training (CEM IT) or other industry related certifications is ideal.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software required.
- Building modeling experience is a big plus.
- Hands on HVAC and commissioning/retro-commissioning experience.
- The ability to complete multiple tasks, on multiple projects, by deadlines.
- QA/QC of your own assigned tasks and projects.
- Experience supporting construction activities during implementation.
- Experience working on energy audits and or energy related construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal staff and clients.
- Some Travel is required (around 10%).

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000. Wendel is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates' relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary offered will also take into consideration regional adjustment factors.
