Energy Innovation Engineer/ Project DeveloperThis position is located in NYCOur client is a leading Energy Services Company that reduces the energy and water consumption of their customers through building upgrades and on-going Energy Management Services. They offer Guaranteed Energy Savings projects that create a fully integrated end-to-end service backed by a performance-based contract. This company manages the upgrade from start to finish and offers a range of funding options. They offer Building Automation Systems in new builds and retrofits as well as support services that include maintenance, reporting, monitoring and utility bill management. The company offer's it's clients a unique Services Agreement, where cost savings are achieved by reducing building energy consumption and they are shared between the customer and the Company who funds the necessary building upgrades upfront without needing any capital or debt from the client. So the client gets cost savings AND millions of dollars in building upgrades without putting any money of their own.We are seeking an Energy Innovation Engineer to join our Clients team. This engineer will work to identify new and innovative utility conservation and management measures, requiring a creative curiosity and ability to think outside the box. This role involves developing and standardizing energy engineering tools, templates, and data models using advanced software, alongside providing technical review and support for engineering savings calculations.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and standardize energy engineering tools, templates, and data models using advanced Excel tools, VBA, Power BI, and Tableau.Create proposals and engineering calculations for custom utility rebates and incentives (20%).Conduct technical reviews to ensure accuracy and mitigate risks in engineering savings calculations (20%).Research and support the development of tools for calculating energy and water saving solutions (20%).Conduct on-site assessments in commercial and industrial facilities, developing engineering solutions for energy and water conservation (20%).Prepare sales proposal content to describe these solutions and define scope and pricing for selected conservation measures (15%).Support business development activities (5%).DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Advanced knowledge in building services such as mechanical and HVAC, Building Automation Systems, electrical and lighting.Some experience with industrial systems such as air compressors, vacuum pumps, steam systems, and heat exchangers.Experience with advanced computer skills and energy simulation software such as eQuest/Trane Trace.Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.Project management fundamentals and ability to work effectively across a large geographic and diverse customer portfolio.Effective interpersonal skills for developing strong working relationships.Experience with Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) is a plus.Demonstrated performance in sourcing and implementing new technology, with up-to-date knowledge of energy efficiency technologies.Passion for energy innovation and decarbonization efforts, with some overnight travel required.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering, or equivalent.P.E. certification preferred but not required.3+ years' professional experience desiredExperience as an Energy or Project Engineer, preferably in an ESCO environment.Hold one or more technology and industry certifications (CEM, CEA, CMVP, LEED AP, etc.).Demonstrated experience in performing energy audits according to ASHRAE standards (ASHRAE Level 1, 2 & 3, and Investment Grade Audits).Advanced knowledge of energy modeling/best practice/codes (ASHRAE, IESNA, NEC, etc.).Experience in overseeing projects from proposal to implementation.Technical experience with energy efficiency technologiesIf you are a dynamic, successful, driven professional, this is a company that will further your experience and career growth.Please send us your resume for confidential consideration.
