Akelius is seeking an experienced energy manager to join the Construction team.
The energy manager is responsible for identifying, reporting, and implementing energy-saving opportunities for Akelius properties and future acquisitions.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- analyze building utility consumption and cost data
- evaluate building potential prior to acquisition
- manage energy and water efficiency audits
- recommend measures for reducing utility consumption
- plan and implement measures with asset management and construction team
- measure and verify savings from implemented measures
- conduct trainings for construction and property staff
- support the development of efficiency guidelines and standards
- manage energy projects implementation
- monitor energy focused incentives and rebates
- submit energy focused incentives and rebates
- assist in inspections of properties
- complete various energy related reporting
- perform other duties as assigned
who you are
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, and or building science
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- expert technical understanding of energy and water efficiency
- LEED, WELL, or other building certifications preferred
- experience with energy auditing and modelling
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent, is preferred
- experience implementing efficiency measures in multifamily or commercial buildings
- exposure to or experience with corporate sustainability initiatives and programs
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including
