Job Description:
As part of the Cloud Operations + Innovations (CO+I) organization, the Energy Markets team supports datacenter interconnection and energy supply contracts with utilities and third-party suppliers. Additionally, the team leads regulatory and policy strategy development with utilities, regulators, andstakeholders important to datacenter and clean energy infrastructure delivery. All of this is done in support of Microsoft's long-term 100/100/0 vision – that on all the world's grids, 100 percent of electrons, 100 percent of the time are generated from zero carbon sources. As an Energy Markets Program Manager, you will support activities to execute power interconnection and energy supply agreements for Microsoft's data centers. You will also lead the evaluation of energy markets, electric power rates, and tariffs critical to power delivery and sustainability. In this role, you will build and lead relationships with utilities and other stakeholders to originate and perform diligence on energy supply opportunities. A successful candidate will thrive working cross functionally with other business stakeholders that are essential to successful project execution. This includes helping develop and provide financial analytics to support business reviews and recommendations on cost effective power agreements to CO+I leadership. This role will support our Data Center Energy Markets teams principally in the Americas (Canada, the United States, and LATAM). Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, or related field, and 2+ years' experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role  OR master's degree in business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, AND 1+ year(s) experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role OR equivalent experience.  Other Qualifications:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, or related field, and 5+ years' experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role OR Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Policy, AND 3+ year(s) experience in the energy industry, project management, business development, or related role OR equivalent experience. Sourcing Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
