Energy Power Generation and Delivery - Sr. Project Engineer538 Broadhollow Rd, Melville, NY 11747, USAJob DescriptionH2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks a Senior Project Engineer in our Energy Department. This position will be responsible for designing power generation and delivery systems, as well as supporting power generation and energy storage development projects, transmission and distribution projects, and various major utility clients.Job Responsibilities:Support specific projects within area of capability and perform engineering studies, analysis and investigations, under specific level of supervision, in order to recommend corrective solutions.Independently collect, collate and analyze data using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department's decision-making process.Support projects involving power generation and delivery, substation, underground and overhead transmission, distribution, storage and/or renewable systems.Develop and execute procedures, instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.Test and challenge existing procedures and highlight areas for improvement in order to ensure they are robust.Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to support the team approach and to obtain and share information.Undertake specific tasks of varying complexity in order to support colleagues in the design of technical solutions.Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.Develop and maintain systems, designs, specifications, standards, models and procedures in order to support design solutions and enhance safety, efficiency and operability and support local decision making.Keep up to date with market/regulatory developments within own profession/discipline in order to ensure the optimization of best practice.Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.Promote and implement procedural best practice in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with policies and regulatory requirements.Education and Qualifications:BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.Experience (Minimum required): 10 years of experience developing and/or designing power generation, delivery, transmission, distribution, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, protective relays, standby power generation, and/or PLC controls.EIT, PE preferred.Consulting, developer or utility background preferred.High level of technical performance with strong work ethic.Ability to work productively and cooperatively with team members and clients.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Easy Power (or other electrical system analysis software) desired.The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 annually.The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications - not related to any applicant's characteristics protected by local, state or federal law.Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.#J-18808-Ljbffr
