Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create AlertTitle: Energy Program Manager - Limited ServiceApplication Deadline Date: 12/08/2024Department: Public Service DepartmentLocation: Montpelier, VT, USPosition Type: Limited ServiceSchedule Type: Full TimeHourly Rate: $35.81OverviewThe EnergyProgram Manager will be focused on energy and efficiency resources in the thermal sector for the Public Service Department (PSD).Duties include oversight of planning and delivery of thermal energy and process fuel efficiency measures and programs administered by the distribution utilities and Efficiency Vermont. The position will also represent the Department in its oversight role on the proposed Clean Heat Standard, and on compliance pathways for thermal sector emissions reduction goals as laid out in the Global Warming Solutions Act. The role will serve as the subject matter expert for thermal sector policy analyses and discussions, and as a key witness in testimony before the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and legislature. The Manager will also be responsible for overseeing evaluation and verification, including 3rd party consultants, and annual reporting responsibilities for all thermal sector programs. Additionally, the role will serve as the liaison between the Climate Action Office and the Department of Public Service on thermal efficiency to ensure that program offerings and planning processes are aligned.Who May ApplyThis position, Energy Program Manager (Job Requisition #51430), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Extensive interaction with utility representatives, public interest groups, consultants, public and private organizations, and citizens will be expected.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree or higher in environmental or energy studies, engineering or other quantitative science, economics, law, public policy or administration, business administration, or a closely related field AND one (1) or more years of experience involving management, analysis or development of energy programs, and general knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency.ORBachelor's degree in environmental or energy studies, engineering or other quantitative science, economics, pre-law, public policy or administration, business administration, or a closely related field AND six (6) years or more of experience involving management, analysis or development of energy programs, and general knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency.ORFour (4) or more years as an Energy Program Specialist III with the State of Vermont.Preferred QualificationsExperience supervising, managing, or leading a team.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
