Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Deep understanding of NYC energy and sustainability regulations; LL84, LL87, and LL97 compliance; industry best practices; and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of building systems performance and solutions for reducing GHG emissions/costs.
- Perform technical tasks for delivery of energy and sustainability technical services for decarbonization (including energy analysis and energy models), climate emission analysis, and technical reports.
- Perform ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits, analyze energy usage data, and identify and/or confirm potential energy conservation measures.
- Identify, estimate, and apply for applicable energy efficiency incentives.
- Ability to perform detailed energy savings calculations and spreadsheet analysis.
- Ability to calculate cost savings and return on investment (ROI) for energy-efficient improvements and renewable energy systems.
- Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications to evaluate energy efficiency and engineering feasibility.
- Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings.
- Provide consultation to clients or other engineers on topics such as decarbonization, energy modeling, energy management control systems, lighting, or daylighting design.
- Use effective writing and verbal skills to deliver high-quality reports and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
- Contribute to business growth strategies.
- Ability to survey a 500,000-square-foot building in one day
- Ability to be an On-Site Energy Manager for client building sites across all of NYS
Qualifications
- 4+ years' of direct engineering experience and related project management.
- BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as business presentation skills.
- Must have demonstrated familiarity with State and local building codes and recent climate regulations.
- Proficiency in building energy modeling (eQuest, EnergyPlus) and financial modeling of ECMs is a plus.
- NYS PE is a plus. CEM, CEA, CBCP would be preferred or ability to take the test 90 days after start date.
- Experience working with NYSERDA FlexTech and/or On-site Energy Manager is a plus.
