Reimagine What's Possible The Baytown Production Engineer is part of the Baytown operations leadership team and is responsible for daily plant operations, safety and environmental compliance, as well as employee training and development at the Baytown III HyCO facility. The Baytown III HyCO facility consists of a World Class SMR with an integrated syngas cold box. All compressed gas products are transported via pipelines, which are connected with our West Gulf Coast pipeline supply systems. The facility produces hydrogen and carbon monoxide.In addition to leading daily operations at the Baytown III facility, you will also provide engineering support for the other assets aligned to the Baytown Operations Area Manager including Baytown II ASU and ROG, Corpus Christi SMR, and two satellite plants in the greater Houston area.You will report to the Baytown III Site Superintendent and will directly lead the Baytown III operations team which includes operator technicians, maintenance technicians, and contractors.Do you have a passion for safety, solving unique challenges, driving efficiency and operational excellence? Required Skills / Abilities: - Seasoned leadership and experience in engineering-based roles with a desire to progress into operations leadership roles.
- A proven track record in driving continuous improvement through analytical reviews of complex systems.
- Knowledge of RCA and FMEA with previous usage of these methodologies is a plus.
- Strong plant operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity A track record of success on Safety, Environmental, Quality and Employee engagement A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- Strong communication and organizational skills A self-starter with proven leadership abilities.
Key Job Responsibilities:- Support of all aspects of day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting plant process problems, directly supporting daily plant activities and leading plant projects.
- Investigating incidents and near misses, understanding and correcting root causes of failures
- Work with the site team to ensure all aspects of Operational Discipline are implemented and utilized.
- Understanding safe operating, design, permit limits; actively practice alarm management.
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting skills and operational know-how .
- Use and update P&IDs, ensure P&ID literacy is achieved.
- Maintain the P&IDs, SWIMs, and shutdown tables via the MOC process, including writing, implementation, and training of MOCs and jumper bypass and project development.
- Familiarization with the process technology and chemistry.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:- B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent experience
