Job Description:

Position: Engagement and Events Manager

Location: Metro Boston (our schools are in: Allston, Brighton, Belmont, Marlborough, and Natick)

Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an Engagement and Events Manager with a focus on experiential marketing to enhance the experiences of children, parents, educators, and staff across our childcare centers. This dynamic role emphasizes building community through daily events, seasonal programs, and active social media engagement, creating a vibrant environment that engages young learners and energizes our teaching staff.

Comprehensive benefit and salary package:

  • $60,000 annual salary with bonus target of $10,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Classroom Engagements: Design and support daily in-class events that are both fun and aligned with our learning objectives, inviting parents and educators to actively engage in the child's learning journey.
  • End-of-Day Events: Develop engaging, parent-friendly activities at pick-up times to encourage family interaction and reinforce learning concepts in a playful way.
  • Seasonal Traveling Events: Coordinate and oversee seasonal programs, such as our mobile planetarium and themed curriculum activities, to provide consistent and exciting learning experiences across all locations.

Educator Support and Collaboration:

  • Build strong partnerships with educators, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and energized by event activities and enrichment programming.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and coordinate events that complement classroom activities, providing educators with resources and ideas that enhance their teaching objectives.
  • Act as a resource for educators, fostering a positive, collaborative relationship that brings added value to their daily routines and curriculum goals.

Community and Parent Engagement:

  • Act as the primary contact for parent engagement, gathering feedback, and fostering community through meaningful, curriculum-aligned activities.
  • Encourage parents to share their experiences on social media, supporting brand growth and community ties.
  • Social Media and Content Creation:
  • Regularly post to our social media platforms, highlighting the unique, joyful experiences within our centers.
  • Capture high-quality photos and short-form videos at events, emphasizing the values and learning benefits of our childcare environment.
  • Collaborate with parents to gather testimonials and secure social media shoutouts to enhance our online presence.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Work closely with the CMO to align engagement strategies with our mission and curriculum goals.
  • Provide regular updates on event success, curriculum alignment, parent feedback, vendor management, and social media performance.

Third-Party Enrichment Provider Management:

  • Manage partnerships with external enrichment providers (e.g., gymnastics, music, karate) to enhance our centers' offerings.
  • Ensure that vendor programming aligns with our curriculum goals, providing enriching experiences that engage children in active learning.
  • Oversee vendor selection, programming, and scheduling, and manage enrichment budgets to secure high-quality, affordable programming that supports our educational mission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Event Planning, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in event management, community engagement, or a similar role; experience in childcare, hospitality, or early childhood education is preferred.
  • An interest in curriculum and child development to ensure all events are engaging and supportive of learning objectives.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, programming, and budgets.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural talent for building relationships with parents, children, educators, and staff.
  • Reliable Transportation: This role requires travel between our locations; therefore, reliable transportation is essential.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background Record Check (BRC): In compliance with Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations, the candidate must undergo a comprehensive BRC, including:
  • Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
  • Department of Children and Families (DCF) check for supported findings of abuse or neglect.
  • Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check.
  • Fingerprint-based check of state and national criminal history databases.
  • Fingerprinting: A fingerprint-based criminal background check is required to determine the suitability of the candidate.
