About the Company: Neoolife is a pioneering startup (US-based with a presence in Europe) backed by a multinational leader in structural heart disease treatment. Our mission is centered around innovating polymeric heart valve technologies. Our primary focus is the development of an advanced polymeric heart valve using a transcatheter platform.

Position Overview: As the Engineer (Material Science & Bioprocessing) at Neoolife, you will be focusing on bioprocessing for cardiac tissue engineering. The position of Engineer in material science with expertise in bioprocessing will include the use of electrospinning, biofabrication systems, quantitative histology, and biomechanics. The Engineer will report directly to the Vice President of R&D. We expect worldwide travel capacity.

Preferred requirements:

  • PhD in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedicine, Pharmacy, Mathematics, or other related field of study;
  • Verifiable research experience in cardiac tissue engineering bioprocessing, mechanical testing, histology, biomaterials, and tissue engineering, scientific publications;
  • Experience in scanning electron microscopy and image processing;
  • Postgraduate education in tissue engineering/bioengineering (e.g. workshops, training school);
  • Experience in working with software such as Solidworks, MatLab, MS Office, EndNote, SigmaPlot, or other related software;
  • Experience in biocompatibility test in vivo and functional test via hydrodynamic and durability assessment;
  • Verifiable intellectual property production

Professional skills:

  • Biofabrication (e.g. electrodeposition, 3D printing);
  • Basic notions in molecular biology, cellular biology, and biological tissues;
  • Tissue engineering scaffold design and fabrication;
  • Basic notions of durability and hydrodynamic assessment;
  • Basic notions in biomaterials and native tissue mechanics;
  • Basic notions and previous experience in Brightfield microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, confocal and/or multi-photon microscopy
