Position Objective Statement:
Complete assigned process engineering related tasks and projects of various levels of complexity to provide support for process engineering support objectives. Provide ongoing support of operations through continuous improvement of quality, efficiency, safety, and team development.

Responsibilities Include:
Support the mill's Quality and Process Engineering team with fundamental projects and tasks central to continuous improvement and product development.
Work with a multi-functional team consisting of members of the operating floor, management and suppliers
Complete trials (pulp substitution, energy efficiency, chemical efficiency, product development, etc.) that ultimately impact the bottom-line cost of manufacture and business performance.
Identify safety hazards and their possible solutions.
Complete and track testing of paper properties in a hybrid role of:
* making adjustments with operators,
* recording impact to quality in the lab
* developing models in the office to track performance
* finalizing standard procedures so future leaders can make informed decisions based on findings
Assist with the development of documentation for quality and process engineering processes/projects.
Develop periodic presentations of findings, results and impacts on performance via routine check-ins with management personnel, as well as a comprehensive formal presentation at the end of the Co-op period.
Other relevant assignments as made by management which may involve topics such as Safety, Information Systems, Process Control, Automation, Finance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Maintenance, Converting Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Exposure to vendors of chemicals, clothing, equipment, etc. - Tailored to personal interests and Development goals!

Knowledge, Education and Training Qualifications and Certifications:
Entry to intermediate level engineering relevant course work indicating a career aspiration in engineering.
Key Performance Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a culture defined by LRC's core values.
Demonstrated organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Regular attendance at work is required. Ability to work a regular 40 hours.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to work in a normal office environment to include: sitting or standing for long periods of time, operating various standard office equipment, carrying paper documents/files, reaching and bending, speaking on the telephone, walking through our manufacturing plant, and wearing required personal protection gear (i.e. hearing, eye and foot protection).
