**Position Summary:**

Bio-Techne, is seeking an Engineer, Continuous Improvement (CI). ?This is a key role responsible for optimizing business processes, as well as training and developing CI skills across Bio-Technes Minneapolis based Operations in identifying process and implementing changesto enhance quality, yield and throughput. This position will report directly to the CI Engineering Director and will be based at our Minneapolis location.

This role will lead, coach, and assist RUO, GMP and IVD Businesses to implement strategic initiatives using structured lean continuous improvement methods to help drive operation. Additionally, this role will feed leadership development related to structured continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead a culture of continuous improvement through coaching and execution of Lean Six Sigma methodologies to support annual objectives for Value Stream, RUO(YOY 5 % Productivity Improvement) and IVD ( 50% reduction in customer complaints and achieving >95% OTD).

+ Support management and Process Engineering to identify improvement initiatives to variability reduction, equipment down-time, lead time reduction and waste elimination.

+ Lead monthly Kaizen events across site, document via VSM (Value Stream Mappings) existing processes, identifyprocess gaps, fail points and develop solutions.

+ Lead LSS methodology driven DMAIC, Product and Process Understanding (PPU) projects for problem solving.

+ Identify and manage projects related to end-to-end or semi automation of processes to reduce cycle time and improve product quality

+ Create an environment of continuous learning by conducting lessons-learned events that identify root cause of performance failure and assist team in long-term corrective actions.

+ Responsible for improvements on improved organizational productivity/operating efficiency and service delivery to our customer base.

+ Lead, Coach and mentor in lean methods.

+ Assist with developing standard work procedures for structured lean training, Lean Six Sigma training.

+ Calculate financial cost & benefits; validate results with process owners.

+ Manage process improvement implementation, escalations, cost and scope.

+ Provide coaching support to organizationsLead and supervisors to support their improvement efforts.

+ Utilize change management techniques to ensure the improvements are sustained. Coordinate with our Quality team to design and implement IQ/OQ/PQ and validation protocols.

+ Execute and coordinate validations in compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements.

+ Ensure compliance; NC, CAPA. Support audit.

_Education and Experience:_

+ Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical engineering or other related Engineering fields with 3-5 years of industry experience

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

+ Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and documentation skills are required

+ Ability to generate results and perform work with minimal supervision.

+ Comfortable in a fast-paced, diverse environment with ability to adjust workload based upon changing priorities

_Preferred Qualifications:_

+ 3-5 years of experience leading team improvement efforts in Operations.

+ Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial

+ Effectively engage teams in the value of Lean, VSMs and continuous process improvement.

+ Strong background in a complex, high throughput environment consisting of scientific manufacturing.

+ Experience in prior end-to-end or semi automation implementation for process improvement

+ Lead teams of cross-functional business partners to effectively determine the scope of improvement effort and business impact.

+ Ability to quantify the impact to process metrics and financials and drive improvements.

+ Build consensus and support for chosen solution(s).

+ Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft office products, specifically MS Project and Visio.

+ Have well developed facilitation and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to analyze complex data to draw supportable conclusions and recommendations.

+ Enthusiastic, energetic, and highly driven, with the desire to learn our business.

+ Green Belt or Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certification

+ Experience with statistical software ( Minitab, JMP etc.)

+ Experience in a medical, life sciences or Pharma industry
