Enjoy a culture where your voice is valued and start contributing to our team of passionate professionals providing real-life solutions to our world's biggest challenges.Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for an Engineer Electromechanical / Principal Electromechanical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.Please be aware that this position will also be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.Engineer Electromechanical / Principal Electromechanical Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Support adjudication of changes to the baseline design.
  • Set priorities for procurement and drawing releases.
  • Support development and maintenance of IMS.
  • Create/coordinate manufacturing portions of IDRs, MRR/TRR in collaboration with RDE, PME, PQE.
  • Flow manufacturing-related status updates between GDA team and PMO.
  • Create and/or check for completeness and accuracy of assembly/test procedures and manufacturing flow.
  • Coordinate with PMEs and planners on WO pre-release reviews, production tabletops, manufacturing progress or holdups, and WO closeouts.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation from M&S manufacturing.
  • Identify long lead procurements, make/buy options, need for spares/attrition, critical paths, and parallel paths for manufacturing.Basic Qualifications for Engineer Electromechanical:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or STEM Degree from an accredited institution with 2 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Ability to maintain a Secret US Government security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a higher level security clearance.Basic Qualifications for Principal Electromechanical Engineer:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or STEM Degree from an accredited institution with 5 years of professional engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or STEM Degree with 3 years of professional engineering experience; OR a Ph.D. with 1 year of professional engineering experience.
  • Ability to maintain a Secret US Government security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a higher level security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Lean Engineering principles.
  • Experience with the design, development, and implementation of aerospace mechanical systems as well as a working knowledge of complex mechanical subsystems and integration of subsystems hardware into Air & Spacecraft Systems.
  • Experience with industry standard design tools including CATIA V5, Enovia, AIAA S-114-2005 Mechanical Moving Assemblies and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) applications.Salary Range: $89,400 - $134,200Salary Range 2: $110,300 - $165,500The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
