Job DescriptionKLD Labs, a high-tech engineering firm, specializing in laser-based machine vision products for the railway industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our Electrical Engineering (EE) Department. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:Apply basic electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts to complete assignments under technical supervision.Work independently or in conjunction with the KLD Engineering team to install, test, and troubleshoot systems and devices.Produce and maintain design, test, and production documents.Utilize various electronic test equipment effectively.Build, troubleshoot, and test electronic prototypes.Demonstrate high proficiency in using Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Office.Read and interpret schematics and wire diagrams using schematic capture.Specify electronic parts and enter them into a database.Coordinate with on-site managers to ensure proper system and device installation.Provide customer support both onsite and remotely.Resolve customer issues through effective communication and troubleshooting.Salary will be commensurate with years of relevant experience and qualifications. Compensation will be aligned with the candidate's demonstrated expertise and the specific requirements of the position.Export Control and LicensingThis position may involve access to technology or technical data that is controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations and the release of which to a foreign national may require an export license from the U.S. Government.Qualifications Desired
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites, both in the US and abroad
