Job Title: Fire Protection EngineerJob Location: Mineral, VA 23117Job Duration: 12+ MonthsPer Diem: $100/day 700/weekWhat is the preferred candidate location (local, non-local, remote?) and is there flexibility? Preference for local candidates but will review candidates who need per diem•Candidate will need to be on site based on project/team need, all candidates must be willing to come on siteTop 3 Required Skills1) Training and experience with relevant industry, state, and local fire code requirements2) Fire Protection System Design experience3) Experience completing reviews independently•What soft skill requirements do you have (team fit and personality requirements)?o Strong communication skills both verbal and writteno Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams•Nice to Have Skills:o Preference for candidates with nuclear design quals but will consider candidates with relevant fire protection system design experience and/or previous design qualifications and be willing to assist establishing a current design development qualification (certification)o Previous experience with Simplex FP systems is a pluso Fire protection system troubleshooting experience a pluso Possess or meet the eligibility requirements for Grade of Professional Member of Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).•High Level Project Overview:o Perform subcontractor FP System new install design reviewso Facilitate Commonwealth of VA, Local county staff design document reviewso Perform in-process walkdowns to ensure compliance with all Commonwealth/Louisa County Codeso Support Commonwealth of VA/Louisa County inspector walkdownso Augment North Anna Fire Protection System Engineer work backlog: Monitoring installed FP System performance, support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, emergent FP system performance troubleshooting•Required Years of Experience:o 10 years of related experience.o Experience as a fire protection engineer at a major commercial, industrial, or nuclear facility with a strong background in fire suppression and fire alarm system design.•Education:o Minimum of Bachelor in Scienceo BS or MS degree in fire protection engineering from an accredited university or college•Are there any specific companies/industries you'd like to see in the candidate's experience?o Candidate can come from any industry but should have experience in their companies fire protection team/department#TB_EN
