YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Engineer III is a senior engineering position responsible for providing technical engineering information and assistance to ensure compliance with the project requirements and all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. This is a senior engineering role with developed subject matter expertise and the capability to mentor and train other staff.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Oversee a team of engineers, designers, and staff on a project basis or individual initiative.

  • May be the Engineer of Record for projects as assigned.

  • Supervise, review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.

  • Supervise process coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and all electrical trades.

  • Oversee the preparation of designs, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems.

  • Oversee preparation of power system single-line diagrams, including feeder, over current protection sizing, and equipment elevations.

  • Supervise or conduct short circuit and over-current protection device coordination studies and Arc Flash Studies.

  • Supervise or conduct distribution analysis, including voltage drop, voltage droop, and underground heat effect (Neher-McGrath) calculations.

  • Oversee the project specifications or equipment buy-out.

  • Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions.

  • Supervise or Utilize engineering analysis programs and professional judgment to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents.

  • Conduct value engineering exercises to evaluate the cost of construction.

  • Attend project design team meetings and interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer.

  • Work closely with the Rosendin Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues and deliverables schedule on the projects they are assigned.

  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors during project installation.

  • Generate project specifications appropriate for the project.

  • Develop a complete and accurate sequence of operations for all designed systems.

  • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.

  • Perform work involving the application of conventional aspects of electrical engineering related to the design of high-tech, mission-critical health industry, commercial, industrial, high-rise residential, and other facilities.

  • Review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

  • Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the city, state, county officials, and other outside agencies.

  • Oversee plans and specifications, establish schedules, and coordinate electrical engineering work.

  • Prepare documentation for the commissioning of a building.

  • Resolve various complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements, technical issue resolution).

  • The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. This is a partial listing, and other responsibilities will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of Engineering Experience

  • One-year on-site field experience strongly encouraged

  • Licensure as a US-based Professional Engineer is required

  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering subjects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, value engineering, applicable codes, standards, etc., is required to design state-of-the-art constructible projects.

  • Proficient in Autodesk, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Illumination software, and Oracle software pertaining to Engineering Productivity and CAC generation.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:
  • Up to 50% (Does not include local field visits)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
