This job is primarily responsible for working on capital projects and production troubleshooting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design and layout, purchasing, budgeting, permitting, training, supervising, documenting, and startup.
In this job, you will:- Work with management on capital projects and production issues.
- Monitor production processes, solve production issues, and formulate ideas for improvements of efficiencies and safety, implement changes.
- Coordinate projects from conception to completion; including recommend/implement drawing changes for reduction in production time and ease of assembly; recommend/initiate production process changes to improve productivity and meet cost targets.
- Supervise contracted work and contractors on site (when/where applicable).
- Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine an asset plan to include value added preventative maintenance tasks and effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies.
- Perform basic to moderate design tasks including site preparation, structural, electrical layout and design plans.
- Create layouts, sketches, details and assembly drawings of projects; review drawings for production feasibility and cost impact.
- Interpret drawing during construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site; estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
- Initiate daily communication both internally and externally on project and product status.

Here's what you'll need to be considered:EducationRequired - Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Preferred - Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
ExperienceRequired - Mechanical experience/background.Preferred - 2 years' related mechanical experience.
Certifications/LicenseRequired - Professional Engineer certification or working to obtain.Required - (Dependent on division supported) - Current Passport may be required for International travel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Working knowledge, understanding, and ability to demonstrate the following disciplines in the engineering field: heat transfer, countercurrent extraction, particle size analysis, reverse osmosis, and have a thorough understanding of other engineering principles.
- Familiarity with installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Auto-CAD.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Strong decision making, negotiation, and construction management skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, with ability to remain flexible to changing priorities.
- Ability to learn and perform effective supervisory skills.
- Ability to coordinate projects through to completion.
