Job Description:
- Provides leadership on assigned projects for Project Engineering and Design within the Electric Transmission Engineering Organization by utilizing a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.
- Acts as a primary interface with multiple Consulting-Engineering firms for Inside Plant projects that are outsourced and assures that standards are maintained by these firms.
- Coordinate and oversee complex projects and provide liaison functions with Licensing and Permitting Group, System Planners, System Protection Engineers, Asset Experts, Vendors, Projects Managers, construction and operating personnel consultants and contractors.
- Review complex Civil Design drawings for conformance to standards and applicable federal, state, and local ordinances.
- Provide technical support during permitting and construction of projects; resolve complex technical problems and provide solutions.
- Evaluate and review drawings and documents used for construction and bid purposes.
- Must maintain and apply working knowledge of Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
- Update and manage workforce planning tool
- Reviews and checks Civil design documents including drawings, calculations, specifications, submittions, ect.
- On outsourced and in-house engineering projects for conformance to standards and applicable design criteria.
- Act as a primary interface with multiple Consulting -Engineering firms for project work that is outsourced and assure that Codes, Industry practices and standards are maintained by these firms.
- Must have the initiative and ability to work independently on most issues with limited supervision, as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues and projects.
- Proven ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups and clearly display individual and team, leadership and critical projects and initiatives.
- Provide civil engineering support on projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience with review of civil design documents, including drawings, calculations, specifications, submittals, etc.
- Familiar with civil engineering codes - NBC, ACI and AIS
- Strong individual initiative and ability to work independently on most technical issues

- Computer skills in Microsoft office applications
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong planning and organizational skills; adaptable and oriented
- Must demonstrate leadership in their role and have the ability to stand-in for the Group's supervisor when required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups.
- Clearly demonstrated individual and team leadership on critical projects and initiatives.
- As the job requires company, locations, and offsite assignments and events, must possess a valid US drivers license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced technical or engineering degree/Masters/MBA
- Engineer training certificate
- Advanced technical training
- Experience with regulatory and licensing requirements, including environmental, zoning, planning, and construction codes
- Knowledge of StaadPRO, RISA 3D, HEC-RAS, L- Pile, SAG- 0, or similar Civil analysis and design software
