Job Summary

The Off Road Vehicle Validation Engineer will lead the execution of the DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) and the issue resolution process for assigned projects. Develop, implement, and maintain engineering test procedures and plans to ensure thorough validation of systems to full vehicles are representative of customer usage. Appling reliability methodologies to ensure vehicle and components meet design and quality targets. Act as an integrated member of the project team from concept to production to ensure a high-quality product is delivered to our customers. *This posting is to gauge the interest and probe the market for the possibility of a future position in 2025*

Location: Polaris Proving Grounds, San Angelo, TX

Responsibilities

  • Lead validation of components, systems, and full vehicles through various tests including acoustics & vibration, structural, environmental, software, mileage accumulation, and more.
  • Work with various project teams and internal/external test resources to ensure validation activity is performed as planned during the development process. Communicate status to management and stakeholders throughout Product Development Process (PDP) phases.
  • Ensure vehicle and component level durability and reliability goals are met.
  • Lead issue resolution process and support various teams in root cause analysis of issues discovered to provide potential solutions.
  • Execute and complete the DVP&R for Off road vehicle programs assigned.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and conduct component, system, and full vehicle level tests.
  • Lead the durability portion of the DVP&R throughout the program.
  • Support with the creation of documents, processes, and procedures for testing and validation of off-road products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

  • Excellent hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced with test planning, coordination and execution.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of field and lab testing with reliability metrics and targets.
  • Must be self-motivated, conscientious, detail oriented, committed to quality and timeliness in your deliverables.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Product Development Process (PDP) stage gate development.

Education

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering field required.

Working Conditions

  • Dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Time split between office and shop/test labs.
  • Travel up to 15%”
