Position: E&I Reliability Engineer
Position Summary: Identify and implement engineering solutions and improvements in equipment and processes for maintenance reliability. Provide operations and maintenance engineering, technical assistance, and maintenance project leadership and support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Initiates elemental engineering studies into equipment/process failures and presents details of the analysis
* Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or data base and correlates the data for analysis using well defined engineering techniques/principles/procedures.
* Works toward increasing safety, productivity and product quality by improving the reliability of electrical and instrumentation infrastructure and process control systems
* Coordinates new installations and modifications to achieve project performance objectives and cost, schedule and safety requirements.
* Utilizes a priority system in achieving capital effectiveness to do the right projects right.
* Develops engineering designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates, complying with corporate standards and sound engineering practices. Ensures that new and proven technology is implemented.
* Provides engineering technical assistance and support across all Mill units.
* Provides training and resources for maintenance tradespersons.
* Manages and coordinates outside contractors and vendors. Serve as the company rep for same.
* Support operations & maintenance coordinators as needed for back up and weekend coverage.
Technical Requirements:
* BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience in pulp & paper or related manufacturing experience.
* Knowledge of equipment/process systems and equipment selection. Provox, Delta V, Allen-Bradley drives and PLC, NFPA 70E, high/medium voltage power distribution experience desired.
* Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate project and technical activities across all levels of the company.
* General knowledge of pulp and papermaking processes.
