Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:As an Algorithm and Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, testing, and implementing extendable / reusable algorithms to improve state estimation and backend processes. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to providing documentation to supply tracking algorithms including observation models, propagation models, and filters / smoothers.Essential Functions:Breadth and depth in the application of mathematics to perform data analysis and algorithm development for military applicationsDevelopment and performance analysis of tracking and state estimation algorithmsTool and prototype development using Modern C++ and PythonAlgorithm defect tracking and resolutionTechnical Documentation as requiredSeeking candidates who find satisfaction in working on challenging and diverse assignments in collaborative settings across all levels.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:Principle Software Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year with a PhD.Senior Principal Software Engineer (Level 4): Bachelor s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or 4 years with a PhD.Linux exposure and working knowledge of common utilities like grep, awk, cat head, etc.C/C++; 4 years development experienceAlgorithm design and state estimation experienceData analysis - Population statistics and trend identificationBridge between theoretical concepts and practical implementationExperience with numerical computing (numerical linear algebra, differential equations, optimization (combinatorial and non-linear), and statistics.Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
Preferred Skills: Strong statistical background and skillsExperience in tracking and prediction algorithms, simulation, and validationExperience with multiple hypothesis trackingExperience in the numerical implementation of motion filters.Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations is a plusExperience with containerization
Pay Range:The pay range for this position is $95.00-$120.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
