Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Conducts daily inspections on the kitchen equipment and communicates with the F&B department for repair needs
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs of all kitchen equipment including ovens, boilers, mixers, choppers, toasters, glass washers and commercial/industrial dishwashing equipment
- Repairs all commercial and industrial food service equipment
- Responsible for the proper operation, repair and maintenance of the grease removal systems
- Completes maintenance work orders
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for the installation of new commercial kitchen equipment
- Performs minor fabrications
- Responsible for all department logs/record keeping and labor recording
- Assists other trades, as necessary
Minimum Education and Qualifications:- Two years of experience in a licensed trade (i.e. electrical, plumbing, HVAC) or two years schooling in appropriate field may be substituted for equivalent work experience requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass both verbal and technical proficiency test and demonstrate skills necessary to perform specific job functions
- Must be able to read and work from blueprints
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable through the company carrier
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with running building management systems for HVAC and Stationary Apprentice
- Has a firm knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety requirements of the trade
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the trade
Training Requirements:- Responsible to learn to read and work from blueprints
- OSHA Lockout/Tag out procedures
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure training
- Respirator training and fit tested
- Man lift training (scissor and boom lift)
- Forklift training
- Confined space training
- Fall protection
- Mohegan Sun will be offering online classroom training to work towards the completion of your trade discipline license
Physical Demands and Work Environment:- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and climb a ladder
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
