Accountability:Responsible for the management of Bill of Materials for all production orders for the Signaling wiring shop including wired bungalows, gate mechanisms, flashers, and field materials for all customers. Identifies issues with bill of materials compared to wiring plans from customers or internal designs. Resolves BOM deficiencies and or recommends corrective actions.Responsibilities include:
- Comparing released Bill of Materials from Signal Engineering to the actual customer plans and resolve any discrepancies.
- Utilizing and learning tools to create Bill of Materials in both Microsoft Excel and D365.
- Input of Sales orders and Production orders into D365 Inventory Management tool based on customer Purchase Orders.
- Checking and/or possibly creating Bill of Materials for new projects to help the Engineering department.
- Checking received Purchase Orders for correct pricing from various customers as required.
- Creating Part numbers as required as directed by Engineering Management.
- Checking Customer provided material as required and compare to released Bill of Materials.
- Support Estimating for future quotations with new bill of materials as directed by Signaling Management.
- Supporting input of pricing into D365 for various components or customer selling price.
- Acquire a broad understanding of the function, department, and business by cross-training and supporting other roles, as requested.
- Other duties as defined by Signaling Management.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Electrical related or other technology related field and/or 2-4 years related experience.
- Ability to use Microsoft office, Excel, and other programs. Knowledge of Microsoft D365 is a plus.
Desirable
- Proficient using Microsoft D365, and Microsoft Office Programs.
- Proficient knowledge of Railroad Signal materials.
