Here's what we're looking for.We are seeking a Technology Leader with strong technical, leadership, communication, and delivery execution skills to drive and lead Engineering, Execution, and Strategy for the core Product Platform domain for our Personal Risk Services (PRS) line of business. Reporting to our Chief Information Officer for PRS, you will oversee a portfolio of applications within PRS, and will lead the delivery engineering teams in strategic execution, tactical enhancements, and overall system reliability and availability. Partnering with the PRS Leadership team, you will craft and execute on strategies for technical currency and modernization efforts for applicable applications. We will also look to you to drive change within their portfolio, including maturing the engineering mindset/culture and implementing a digital execution model consistent with the enterprise. In this role, you will:
- Manage and lead a domain portfolio within PRS end-to-end, including project execution, solution design, portfolio health, governance, delivery, planning, and strategy
- Optimize the overall portfolio production operating model, ensuring appropriate ownership and overall availability, performance, latency, efficiency, capacity, and observability/response
- Drive engineering best practices across the portfolio, including Design, DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, Cloud Implementation, etc.
- Oversee and manage a team of engineers, business analysts, and scrum masters
- Develop and attract diverse talent. Active coach and mentor, and contributor to Engineering Chapters that drive best practices
- Partner with Architecture and Engineering Leadership to devise appropriate strategies for long-term direction of product applications (e.g. maintain, modernize, replace, etc.).
- Champion and drive a shift to a digital (agile) execution model in the portfolio. Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver incrementally on the highest value work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
Technical Skills
- 12+ years of hands-on engineering and delivery in Technology, including designing, building, deploying, and maintaining full-stack end-to-end software applications/solutions; experience in Insurance and/or Financial Services preferred
- Experience in modernizing legacy applications and executing on strategic tech currency plans
- Experience & expertise in Azure Cloud platform and solutions, e.g. Azure Blob, API Management, Cosmos DB, and AKS; Azure technical certifications a plus
- Experience in development of REST-based APIs (using C#, .NET), back-end capabilities (using NodeJS and Typescript), and front-end web apps (using Angular/React, HTML, and CSS), Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and/or SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with cloud DevSecOps tools and practices including code quality, code coverage tools/frameworks, continuous integration, test automation, and continuous deployment pipelines
- Experience in and knowledge of project management and planning tools - i.e. JIRA, Confluence, Office, etc.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically in a structured manner - with the ability to assimilate solution architecture and business objectives to create plans, delivery, and recommendations
In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $202,900 - $345,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
