The products, systems and solutions developed by ContiTech are used both in the automotive industry as well as in railway engineering, machine and plant construction, mining, agriculture and other important sectors of the future.Job DescriptionCo-op will be responsible to interact with all aspects of the plant maintenance and engineering function and to assist in identifying possible mechanical issues. The goal for this co-op is to grow the incumbent's knowledge of Engineering / Maintenance and expand their knowledge in Manufacturing.- Assist the Maintenance team & the Plant Engineers to improve process capabilities and reduce waste & injuries by modifying existing mechanical equipment.- Search databases for the most cost-effective parts and supplies for the Maintenance and Engineering departments.- Work with manufacturing associates to resolve mechanical issues and mechanical drawing issues.- Work with Maintenance team on CMMS system to ensure tasks are written correctly.- Gather data, develop and configure CAD layouts.- Generate PowerPoint presentation slides for design reviews.Qualifications•Sophomore standing college/university courses working towards BS in Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering degree.•3.0 GPA•Ability to work 40 hours per week in the summer•Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)•Excellent communication skills•Basic understanding of CAD systems•Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills•Detail oriented•Customer Service oriented•Willing to learn new procedures and applications•Able to work with minimal supervisionAdditional InformationEEO / AA / Disabled / Protected Veteran Employer.
