DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to engage with multiple facets of the field, such as roadway and pavement design, drainage systems, bridge construction, materials testing, traffic system design and operations, and maintenance asset management. This internship serves as a valuable opportunity to refine your technical skills, translate theoretical concepts into real-world applications, and work alongside committed engineering professionals who prioritize innovation and quality. Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 2 which consists of Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Cameron, McKean, Potter, Mifflin, Elk, and Juniata Counties. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
- Work hours will vary based on position
- Some positions may require travel
- Compensation is credit based:
- Less than 90 credits - $20.76
- Over 90 credits - $21.64

QUALIFICATIONS
Students who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:
- Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester.
- In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Special Requirement: Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Majors:
- Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
