Job DescriptionPosition Summary: Management of Polyglass Engineering department in alignment with Polyglass Strategic Goals and Objectives. Primary responsibilities include alterations and additions to production systems at our manufacturing facilities to facilitate improvements to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives. Responsibilities: Modifies and improves existing designs and production techniques through Capital and Expense Projects at each of the current five (5) manufacturing facilities by:
  • Promotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Manages the CAPEX process and ensures compliance with all pertinent MAPEI policies and procedures as well as Polyglass established procedures.
  • Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.
  • Providing technical expertise in equipment design.
  • Develops and maintains the technical standards for the engineering group.
  • Develops and negotiates contracts involving large scale investment related activities.
  • Ensures that all deliverables meet contract requirements.
  • Ensures that equipment meets operational designs.
  • Organizes design and engineering documentation for the Engineering Group and provides controls/instrumentation design expertise.
  • Represents the Engineering Department in planning and coordinating construction activities with the individual Plant production schedules.
  • Works with the Plant Manager to manage work teams to improve the effectiveness of manufacturing and keep buildings and facilities in satisfactory condition.
  • Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite of products
  • Familiarity with PLC's, data collection systems, and other machine-control systems required.
  • Familiarity with project management software required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Requires 5 years' experience in a technical environment working in a management-level position.
  • Capable of advanced troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and electrical control systems.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 35%.
  • Be a self-starter and work independently.
  • Hands on Attitude and possesses the ability to lead by example even in the most difficult times.
  • Uses logic and reason in dealing with problems.
  • Adjusts to changing variables in the workplace.

  • Experience with mechanical & electrical design software preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of shop drawings and solid estimating/scheduling skills preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel 15%
