The Engineering Manager is a hands-on management position responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facilities, including equipment, tools to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the hotel/other public areas. The position includes oversight of construction, maintenance or repair activities in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, air conditioning/heating and landscaping areas. Manage duties and functions as it relates to decision making, organizing, planning, controlling, communicating and directing the Maintenance Department team members. As well as covering any shift as needed and performing the duties which can include moving items, HVAC/refrigeration troubleshooting, Heating troubleshooting, equipment operation, basic electrical, basic/emergency plumbing repairs, etc. Due to the scope of the work you can expect physically demanding work that includes using tools and equipment while responding in a timely manner to emergencies as they occur. Directly in charge of maintaining a tight pm schedule to avoid emergencies and downtime that may affect guest experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Become a positive face to the Engineering operation at Grand Cascades Lodge and accomplish tasks in a timely manner
* Create a relationship with the Engineering team to accomplish goals as a team. The goal is to create a culture of respect and integrity throughout the Maintenance Department
* Communicate with vendors as directed from the resort wide director
* Full management of the maintenance team and their daily productivity by addressing and resolving all of the maintenance issues reported from the daily facility tours; via Zendesk/checklists and/or guest reporting
* Execute strong Preventative Maintenance program created by the Director for building HVAC/Refrigeration and Mechanical equipment
* Have computer skill ability to utilize email, payroll software, Microsoft word and other computer operated systems
* Responsible for daily morning testing and monitoring of property pools.
* Ability to be available on weekends and holidays to keep operation on track
* Reports to the Director of Engineering.
Requirements:
* Must have prior hotel engineering management experience
* Must have weekend and holiday availability
* Must have CPO certification or willing to acquire within 30 days of hiring.
* Must have a driver's license
