Human by nature.As our next Engineering Manager, reporting to our Director of Engineering, you will lead the Engineering function in a site with complex industrial processes with the objective to achieve maximum plant availability and reliability in response to operational activity needs for the local unit.This position is located in Mt. Olive, NJ.In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:Strategy design and execution
  • Provide input to the local Operations business plan and related goals with regards to, e.g. engineering projects, production capacity, critical maintenance activities, changes in equipment, spare parts inventory, etc.
  • Define Site Engineering annual targets and goals based on functional strategy and leads and monitorstheir achievement.
Function management
  • Lead the Engineering team, as well as contractors, working on different assignmentswithin engineering.
  • Work with Global and Regional Engineering functions to ensure proper analysis, planning, and implementation of global strategies, plans, or best practices.
  • Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, engineering plans and lead their execution to address internal customer requirements in the short, mid, and long term.Provide input to global or regional Capex programs to anticipate the impact on local activities and resources.
  • Identify, propose, and implement local Capex projects (when approved).Manage all routine engineering activities, track progress against plan(s) and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
  • Apply best practices and continuous improvement programs to increase processes and use of resources.
  • Deliver best-in-class engineering service to clients through localprojects and coordinate capital investments onsite.
  • Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards, and harmonization of standards within the departments.
  • Implement Group Engineering programs, guidelines and directives and organize regular trainings to ensureadherence to these as well as other guidelines/directives/standards (e.g. EHS).
  • Maintain contact to local authorities.
  • Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering and maintenance activities and build these within approved limit(s).
People management
  • Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the local engineering team and validate related results.
  • Work with local Operations and regional/global management teams and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline for the function.
  • Drive the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function.
Technial Skills
  • Proficiency in complex industrialization and engineering projects, including building, process installation, and utilities, from the design stage to handover.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and project-control tools.
  • Knowledge of stakeholder management and communications.
  • Knowledge of process mapping and design.
  • Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance certification.
  • Overall work experience of 7 to 10 years in manufacturing or plant operations, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
  • 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in people management.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations, including CoEs.
