Job Description:

The role involves:

  • Project Feasibility: Analyzing technology and market demand to assess project feasibility.
  • Product Development: Leading research and development for new products and enhancements of existing designs.
  • Team Management: Organizing and managing the engineering team for product development and support.
  • Technical Support: Providing assistance to production teams regarding tooling and fixtures.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Identifying new product initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Administrative Duties: Writing reports, approving budgets, and managing materials purchases.
  • Policy Development: Establishing and enforcing engineering policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participating in projects aimed at enhancing processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Budget Management: Preparing and overseeing the engineering department's budget.
  • Future Strategy: Designing strategies for development projects in line with company objectives.
  • Coaching and Conflict Resolution: Guiding team members and addressing performance issues.
  • Research Oversight: Ensuring effective execution of research and development efforts.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Design Engineering.
  • Experience: Over 5 years leading engineering teams, with familiarity in Product Life Cycle Management.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles related to structural analysis, failure modes, design principles, metallurgy, and manufacturing to guide design and analysis tasks.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering principles, SolidWorks 3D CAD, and knowledge of DFA/DFM.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills. A customer-first attitude with integrity and accountability is essential.
