POSITION OVERVIEW:

Quanta Workforce Solutions (A Quanta Services Company) is seeking a high performing, critically thinking, analytical, experienced self-starter to join the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution engineering Team. Responsible for the leadership and development of the Substation, Transmission and Distribution Engineering Services organization in order to meet strategic deliverables. The leader will drive the execution of the Substation, Transmission, Distribution engineering projects and its road map through technology, software, standards, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a high performing, critical thinker, analytical, and experienced self-starter with excellent leadership skills, written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. This position will work closely with the senior management staff in addition to interaction with external customer representatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:

• Lead a team that will be assigned the technical management of specific substation, transmission and distribution projects to be performed by external Engineering firms.

• Responsible for ensuring the timely release of work orders to the Engineering firms.

• Ensures overall project guidelines, the scope of work, and schedule for all engineering disciplines involved in creating an overall detailed and constructible project solution are defined.

• Ensures external Engineering firms' proposals for Engineering Work Orders are timely evaluated and includes all necessary aspects.

• Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of the technical scope, schedule, and deliverables from external Engineering firms.

• Ensures potential project risks and hazards are captured and the Project Risk and Hazard Registry have been updated accordingly. Ensures mitigation's measures are identified and executed if needed.

• Manages the engineering team to successfully integrate all LUMA standard solutions and non-standard solutions to comprise a final workable detailed design.

• Ensures the technical quality and compliance to Codes & Standard of the Engineering deliverables from the Engineering firms.

• Ensures coordination with other Engineering disciplines and other departments for the review and approval of the Engineering deliverables of the project.

• Manage the overall request for information (RFIs) process to ensure timely and accurate responses.

• Support field activities related to the execution of the project.

• Strong leadership skills and ability to coach professionals and field employees.

• Strong technical knowledge in utility maintenance and associated Electrical & Utility regulations.

• Strong business knowledge in the utility and regulated environment.

• Working knowledge of Operations groups and the challenges they face day-to-day.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills with the ability to manage and resolve conflict.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Follow all policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPIRENCE:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field.

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a Utility Environment applying sound judgment in decision making.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Technical, commercial and construction experience on the execution of Engineering projects.

• Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) project experience

• Strong technical knowledge in electric transmission.

• Project controls, schedule, and budget management.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

• CAD software knowledge
