The Engineering Technician VI supports the Acquisition Readiness (AR) Performance Assessment (PA) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract out at NSWC Corona. The NSWC Corona Division organizes its efforts into specialized technical capability areas, which include Warfare Systems Performance Assessment, Acquisition and Readiness Assessment. Corona Division provides a disciplined process for measuring and managing material readiness using custom tools, databases, data lakes, data warehouses and business intelligence interfaces in order to provide authoritative metrics, trends, and drivers. Additionally, Corona Division provides quantitative performance assessment using custom analysis tools to process and visualize data for the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard combat systems (including sensors, track management and weapon interface), fleet interoperability and weapon systems and provide analysis products to sponsor decision makers.These technical capabilities span multiple technical departments. The technical capability areas, coupled with complementary business capabilities, compose a collaborative work environment dedicated to providing objective information and assessment products, defense systems analysis and evaluation expertise, and related technology toprogram offices, defense-related support infrastructure, and operating forces.The Engineering Technician VI independently plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity,or serves as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering, e.g., environmental factors affecting electronic engineering. Complexity of assignments typically requires considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable. Supervisor or professional engineer provides advice on unusual or controversial problems or policy matters. Completed work is reviewed for compliance with overall project objectives. This worker may supervise or train and be assisted by lower level technicians.This position requires a SECRET clearance. Interim clearances are acceptable.There may be travel required.
