Job Title:Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Water/Wastewater Engineer Civil EngineeringSummary:BGE is seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join the Public Works department in our San Antonio Office (San Pedro Ave near airport).Responsibilities:
- Independently perform engineering tasks in the planning and design of water and wastewater systems including modeling, pipelines, lift and pump stations, and treatment facilities
- Report directly to a Project Manager to perform water and wastewater utility projects
- Partner with project manager and senior staff in maintaining/developing client relationships
- Work within a team of engineers, designers, and technicians as a lead designer
- Responsible for preparation of feasibility studies, design of water, wastewater, and storm sewer facilities
- Conduct hydraulic model analyses, water and wastewater pipeline planning, and system design
- Hydraulic modeling experience preferred using one or more of the following design tools: InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field
- Registered EIT in Texas required (or passed FE exam waiting on EIT certificate)
- 1+ years of experience with water and wastewater projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- GIS experience preferred
- Experience with water modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, or comparable) preferred
- Experience with independent pipeline, pump station, or lift station design
