Job Type Full-timeDescriptionMartin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Cheyenne, Wyoming office. This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits.About Martin/Martin, Wyoming Inc. Our structural engineers develop customized structural systems to meet design requirements for new facilities and expansions. Our civil teams focus on site and infrastructure design including traffic/transportation, parking, street layout/lighting, water and wastewater utilities, stormwater drainage, circulation, paving, surveying, security issues, and other site considerations. Our investigative engineers can provide support for existing projects, both buildings and sites, to design and implement repairs, renovations, or improvements. A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors early in your career as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in the Rocky Mountain region, Martin/Martin's national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.We operate in a dynamic environment and strive to support a culture that is collaborative, innovative, and creative. The successful candidate will develop expertise in a broad range of structural engineering skills, demonstrate a willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and produce high-quality designs for our clients.Examples of Responsibilities
  • Utilize computer design and graphics software to complete project Construction Documents.
  • Study and apply building code, material code and/or jurisdictional requirements to complete project design calculations under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Assist Project Manager in Construction Administration, including checking of submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations.
  • Communicate and coordinate project design with clients, other team consultants, and contractors.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
  • Has passed FE Examination
  • 0-4 years' experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
  • Bachelor's degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Working knowledge of building and material design codes
  • Experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approach
  • Construction field experience
  • Experience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#,C++, VBA
