Job Description:

Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in assigned sport. Contribute to education program as a whole and to growth of students involved in athletics.

Conditions of Employment

* I hold certification for the position I seek with this application in the State of Texas (if applicable).

* I authorize any Rockwall ISD hiring agent to conduct a background investigation, reinvestigation or continuous evaluation to obtain any information relating to my activities from individuals, schools, employers, criminal justice agencies or other sources of information. This information may include, but not limited to, my academic achievement, performance, attendance, disciplinary, employment history and criminal history record information.

* I understand that I may be required to submit to a fingerprint background check at my own expense before employment or at anytime during employment.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures

Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules

Ability to instruct and supervise student athlete's

Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

At least one year student teaching or approved internship

Experience as a coach or participant in sport assigned
