Job Type Part-timeDescriptionBasic Information Works on as-needed basis at the Library North-East location to fill in for regularly scheduled English Language Instructors. Reports to the Refugee & Immigrant Services & Empowerment (RISE) Outreach Manager and works staff at assigned location. Schedule variable with a maximum of 29 hours per week. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to provide schedule parameters. Wage is $20.05 per hour Position open until filled.What You'd Do Teaches those interested in improving English language skills following course materials including: English Basics 1 & 2, Conversation Club, English for Vocational Trades, Financial Literacy, MO Driver's License Exam, and English for Citizenship. Connects with students personally and encourages them in their journey to learn American English. Records attendance and ensures a welcoming environment. Works with tutors to present a cohesive and inviting environment for learning. Accepts a minimum of 2 assignments per quarter (every 3-months)RequirementsWhat You Need Experience with literacy coaching, language learning, or tutoring. TESOL, TEFL, TESL, or equivalent certification. Currently pursuing or current certification . Experience working with non-native English-speaking persons. Possess good classroom management skills. Able to complete a minimum of 10-hours of training each week for the first 2-months.
