The successful candidate must be able to share the benefits of an education from Gordon State College with various audiences to build relationships and affinity for GSC, while effectively meeting students¿ needs and interests.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate is responsible for conversion of inquiring, applying, admitted students for assigned territories with the goal of increasing enrollment of prospective students within the assigned territory toward achieving departmental and institutional goals. The outcomes are achieved through the following areas of responsibility.Recruitment and Outreach (50%)* Create and implement recruitment and outreach plans for assigned area within the 14-county service region, with the goal of recruiting a highly diverse and talented applicant pool.* Recruit prospective students by attending college and career fairs, lunch visits, private visits, and other relevant recruitment events.* Completes email, call, and text campaigns.* Assist with planning, promoting, and executing yield events.* Oversee and manage tasks and responsibilities in an assigned focus area (e.g., athletics, education partnerships) - track progress of associated initiatives.* With the Director of Admissions, participate in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to enhance Gordon State College¿s reputation at local and state levels.Processing and Applicant Guidance (25%)* Participate in the evaluation of prospective transfer students¿ applications, rendering admissions decisions that follow GSC and USG admissions policies.* Apprise students of available majors and ensure applications reflect students¿ interests/goals.* Refer students with specific learning and support to the appropriate campus services.* Connect special populations, e.g. Veterans and adult learners, with additional services.High School Counselor Liaison Interaction (15%)* Serve as primary contact for counselors from high schools within the assigned service area.* Attend school counselor-focused and sponsored events across the state.* Participate in planning and executing on-campus high school counselor events.* With Assistant Director, create and execute a communication plan for high school counselors to keep them updated admission requirements and program changes.Team and Campus Engagement (10%)* Partner with Academic and Student Affairs to facilitate the enrollment of accepted students.* Prepare and give presentations and tours to prospective students, visitors, and various stakeholders.* Assist in annual communication collateral planning, to include brochures, banners, and giveaways.* Participate in developing/selecting marketing and promotional materials and monitoring inventory.* Engage with campus partners through meetings and targeted activities to advance enrollment goals.* Assist with departmental activities and participate in university wide events.* Participate in various campus committees and state and regional professional organizations.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in a related field.* Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year.* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.Preferred Qualifications* Master's degree in any field* Prior experience working in higher education (student experience will be considered)* Knowledge of Gordon State College and its programs* Experience in post-secondary enrollment services* Experience working independently and with a high level of accountability* Prior experience delivering presentations to large and small audiences* Prior experience in specialty focus areaKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities* Knowledge of college policies and procedures.* Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs, including Banner and CRM.* Knowledge of admissions policies including freshmen, transfer, access institute, and learning support requirements.* Skill in information analysis, decision making, and problem solving.* Skill in the provision of customer services to applicants and students.* Skill in oral and written communication.* Aptitude for navigating information systems and interpreting data.USG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
