Enrollment Services Specialist -Enrollment Management GroupSalary:$20.00/hr-$21.00/hr Benefits:Generousbenefits include paid time off including holidays and vacation, retirementmatch, and tuition remission for employee and dependents.Details at www.duq.edu/benefits Location:Student Services, EnrollmentManagement Group Position Status:Full-time Hours:Varied Position Number:000573/30-427 FLSA Status:Non-exempt POSITIONSUMMARY:Under the primary direction of the Executive Director for Student Services,the goal of the office is to help provide a progressive and streamlined studentexperience to support successful enrollment, retention and completion ofdegrees.By assisting with information,essential services, and the removal of barriers, this position, and assignedemployees, serve to encourage continued progress increasing satisfaction,retention, completion and student success rates and improved revenue positionof the University.Tasks will include,but are not limited to, assisting incoming and current students and familieswith next steps to successfully transition as a new student to the University,assisting with generic financial aid processes, engaging in proactiveconversations to remove/prevent holds being placed on students' accounts andworking with students identified as a potential at-risk of withdrawing.Staff of the Student Services Office willwork to be an initial point of contact for all students with an end goal ofdeveloping a one-stop shop to serve all students concerns and needs incollaboration with departments around campus.DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:Provide high-quality,front-line experience for incoming and current students and families that isrepresentative of a quality DU education by providing a welcoming, supportiveand encouraging atmosphere.Responsibilities include calling/meeting/emailing students to discusspotential next steps in the enrollment process, proactively resolving holdsthat would prevent registration, reviewing student eligibility and aid awards,assisting students potentially at-risk of withdrawing and trouble shoot issuesthat impact a student's experience across the university both at theundergraduate and graduate levels designed to enhance retention efforts.Establish positive working relationships with officesthroughout the University to better serve and where appropriate refer studentsin a seamless manner.Offices includebut are not limited to admissions, financial aid, student accounts, studentlife, multicultural services, religious programs, health services, commuteraffairs and residence life.Assisting incoming and current students and families withnext steps to successfully transition as a new student to the University.This includes working with variousdepartments on campus to ensure appropriate customer service is met at alllevels across the University.Additional responsibilities include monitoring and respondingto emails or messages sent to personal and office accounts (...@duq.edu), live chat related tools, phone calls, Starfish and other applicationsdesigned to better serve DU students.Assist in the development of policies and procedures offeringservices such as admissions, financial aid, registration, residence life,student activities, health services and judicial affairs to better serve theuniversity's undergraduate and graduate students in support of the Universitymission.This will include providingwritten documentation of University processes to be leveraged for possiblefuture policy changes.Participate in student-centered eventsacross campus, such as FAST and orientation, and on-campus enrollment events,such as DUQ Days, Admitted Student Days, group information sessions, andenrollment virtual events.Performresponsible public relations duties through contacts and associations withvisitors, university officials and the general public.Support operational and processing effectiveness for theentire enrollment division (UG admissions, Graduate Recruitment and Admissions,Financial Aid, Enrollment Marketing and Communications, Military and Veterans,and Guest Services) and when necessary, perform back-up responsibilities forthe various EMG offices to ensure continued service to prospective and currentstudents and their families.Performsother related duties as assigned to support the functions of a dynamic,team-oriented environment.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 1-3 years of financial aidexperience.Preferred qualifications:Proficiencywith PC, Microsoft Office tools, email and the Internet with the ability tolearn a variety of new technology systems; familiarity with Starfish, Slate andBanner preferred.Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing: Highly developedinterpersonal, analytic, problem-solving, organizational and communicationskills, including the ability to listen thoughtfully and respectfully to adiverse population of constituents and stakeholders;Strongcommunication skills, both oral and written providing the ability toeffectively communicate with multiple internal and external constituents;Understanding offinancial aid and admissions processes, procedures and policies;Attention todetail and accuracy while multi-tasking;Strongorganization skills; Ability to exceedrecruitment goals, facilitate staff development opportunities, exhibitteamwork, model analytical & critical thinking, engage in creative problemsolving and demonstrate high levels of time management and organizationalskills.Knowledge andunderstanding of federal, states and agency-accrediting rules and regulationsas they pertain to higher education admission;Functional knowledgeof CRM, FAMS system (Slate/Banner/Ellucian preferred) and Starfish (studentsuccess platform); A broadunderstanding of higher education processes and procedures, including sharedgovernance, strategic planning, resource allocation and budget management;Ensurescompliance with Federal and State laws pertaining to financial aid, affirmativeaction and FERPA;Ability toprepare and maintain confidential data independently in accordance withestablished policies and procedures and exercise consistent discretion;Ability to exceedrecruitment goals, facilitate staff development opportunities, exhibitteamwork, model analytical & critical thinking, engage in creative problemsolving and demonstrate high levels of time management and organizational skills.Considerableknowledge of the laws, regulations and policies governing the operations of theUniversity;Ability to createand maintain complex records and files; Willingness andability to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak enrollment periods;Ability to work with diverse populations and sensitivity to theneed of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as related todiversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically; and theability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with theUniversity Community.Commitment to theUniversity's values of diversity, equity and inclusion, and recognition of theimportance of treating each individual with dignity and respect consistent withthe University's Mission.Demonstratedexperience with, and understanding of, the broad diversity of the Universitycommunity (students, faculty, staff and others).Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
