The Specialist - Enrollment meets with high school students, non-traditional students, community leaders, and business organizations to serve as the liaison between Coastal Alabama and the service area as well as organizes and plans events associated with recruiting students to attend Coastal Alabama Community College. Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System salary schedule E3-03 For more information about salary schedules, refer to Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAt a minimum, the essential functions of this position shall include:
  • Represents and promotes Coastal Alabama Community College during the day, evening or weekends.
  • Assists potential students with Admissions applications.
  • Assists with Admissions processing as needed or requested by the Director of Enrollment Management.
  • Conducts presentations in area schools, businesses and at community events.
  • Schedules and hosts college tours for potential students.
  • Coordinates opportunities for area students to attend special events at Coastal Alabama.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with agencies and organizations affiliated with the local community.
  • Plans, organizes, and executes the College's Freshman Orientation - Dive into College.
  • Engages in professional learning activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas.
  • Travels to area schools, appropriate related opportunities, and public locations to seek and recruit potential students.
  • Assists in planning, organizing and executing student recruiting related activities to include campus tours, fairs and special events.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of professional behavior; specifically, Confidentiality, ethics, loyalty, honesty, and integrity; Establishes and maintains positive and professional working relationships; Follows directions (including policies and procedures) in a positive and professional manner; Uses appropriate time-management; Seeks to assist the team through effective initiative; Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills to include but not limited to preparing accurate reports from varied information and communicating job -related topics in interpersonal or presentational settings; Ensures accuracy in data entry and communication; Demonstrates excellent customer service in all forms of communication; Works well under pressure and with others to meet deadlines and to facilitate the appropriate flow of information across the institution; and, Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Uses technology effectively for word processing, record keeping, instructional applications. Examples included fax machines, scanners, copiers and calculators. Utilizes the CRM Communication Platform to input and manage student data to further recruiting goals.

  • QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution OR equivalent recent relevant full-time work experience (two years of full-time recent relevant work experience for every one year of college).

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required (travel and registration).

  • Community College experience.
  • Experience working in admissions/ records or recruiting.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
  • Demonstrated speaking, writing and interpersonal skills.

  • An understanding of the broad range of students' abilities in an open admissions college.
