Title: Enterprise Application Architect Technical Architect
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

The Technical Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions to modernizea public health data system. The Technical Architect will collaborate closely with the Directors, Data Strategy Administrators, and other stakeholders within Public Health Administration, serving in a pivotal role to achieve successful data modernization.
Job Duties:
Developing a technical roadmap for data modernization that aligns with the CDCs vision and priorities
Architecting robust, scalable, and secure data systems that can handle the demands of modern public health surveillance
Driving innovative solutions to enhance data collection, analysis, and dissemination for better public health decision-making
Providing technical guidance and support, ensuring the effective use of modern data technologies
Job Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in a technical role, such as Software Developer, Systems Analyst, or Network Engineer, building a technical foundation
Proficiency in programming languages, database management, system design, networking, cloud services, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity measures
Ability to lead teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong strategic planning and road mapping experience; ability to outline technological direction, assess the impact of new technologies, and ensure IT strategy aligns with business objectives
Proficiency in modeling and diagramming tools, and different methodologies for designing IT systems
Experience integrating various systems to create cohesive solutions that meet organizational needs
Knowledge of security protocols and measures to protect sensitive public health data
Familiarity with DevOps methodologies to improve system deployment and operational efficiency
Experience performing analysis, design, documentation, and implementation of organizational enterprise architecture structural frameworks to align IT strategy, plans, and systems; ability to conduct impact analysis studies (cloud infrastructure and cloud networking design) and identify improvements to technical problems, including designing potential solutions
Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) information and analytics platforms and products, such as DataBricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, AWS, PowerBI, and/or Tableau, among others
Experience in public or government health industry
Leadership experience in projects involving system architecture preferred
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a relevant field required; A Masters Degree in a relevant field and/or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certifications preferred
