SAIC is seeking to fill an opening for a Space Enterprise System Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customer organization we support provides the system enterprise architecting, analysis, and system of systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems. Make a difference in securing our nation's security through quality engineering and innovation.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinating and supporting enterprise requirements, CONOPS, and architectures in various domains; supporting enterprise and system level requirements development for future systems; overseeing the allocation and closure of acquisition-level requirements with developers; participation in readiness events in support of enterprise, system and acquisition-level ground milestones; leading and supporting project planning; assessing schedule and risk; generating and presenting engineering briefings; and interfacing with numerous customersWorking across multiple Directorates and Offices to identify and define future space capability needsFrequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholdersIdentifying and defining future space capability needsIdentifying key architecture and system level tradesDeveloping strategies in support of IC and Department of Defense (DoD) architecturesAssessing the performance of current and future architecture conceptsProviding technical and programmatic guidance to the architecture and system level requirements processDeveloping system architecture models to capture the holistic perspective within the context of a larger enterprisePreparing briefings for senior decision makersQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience with five (5) being at the Chantilly IC CustomerActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraphUnderstanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closureProven experience with technical fundamentals in IC space collectors, command and control, mission control, and mission processingExpert-level proficiency with use of system architectures to support senior level enterprise decision makingExperience with lifecycle readiness from architecture concept development and trade-offs, through system decommissioningExpertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis and assessmentExperience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternativesExperience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate End to End Systems EngineeringDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environmentStrong oral and written communication skillsCustomer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forumsDesired QualificationsAdvanced degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related disciplineExperience with IC customer's Request for Change (RFC) process and the Engineering Review Board processExpert-level understanding of core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processesKnowledge of SIGINT and GEOINT remote sensing systems, protection, and overall space and ground architecture including mission management and/or mission processing functionsIntegration and enterprise closure experience within overall customer domainDetailed knowledge of customer's mission and overall space and ground architectureExperience in UAF and SysML applicationsPrior US military and/or IC customer experienceSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
