Overview

The Sales Operations Director (VP Level) is responsible for enterprise operations that optimize workload processes, applications, operational efficiencies, and scaled sales enablement for enterprise, regional, divisional, geographic businesses, vertical(s), and market segment implementation. This is a newly created role in alignment with Gilbane's growth strategy and will report directly to the head of Global Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities

Baseline Policy, Process, and Budget Management:

  • Accountable for department baseline updates and revisions.
  • Ensure process for RFP/RFQ/third-party questionnaires, vendor registrations or other documentation required to progress opportunities is efficient and scalable.
  • Responsible for the data integrity of CRM. Monitor system adoption, data compliance and governance in addition to performing continuous review of baseline policies and processes to drive standardization.
  • Assist enterprise level and local management in identifying and resolving sales administration and operational problems/bottlenecks and assist in implementation of organizational strategies and best practices.
  • Propose and drive any other initiatives approved by management that contribute to long-term Sales and MarCom operational and organizational excellence.
  • Drive enterprise budget performance while providing divisional and local businesses with guidelines for budgetary expectations.
  • Audits unit activities periodically for compliance to business procedures and workflows.
  • Vendor relations and negotiations.
  • Travel up to 30%.

Market Research and Forecasting:

  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and make recommendations for new business opportunities or partnerships.
  • Provide market insights to the enterprise from qualified research entities.
  • Develop tools and secure resources to communicate competitive intelligence factors, differentiation strategies, and distribute across the enterprise to improve divisional and business unit winning advantage.

Training and Development Programs:

  • Provide first-tier support for any end-user process questions in CRM.
  • Maintain role context and performance expectations for high performing enterprise and locally based marketing and sales support teams.
  • Drive decision-making that will lead to enhancements and process improvements.
  • Build a high-performing team and build bench strength for future leadership roles - ability to identify top talent, provide ongoing coaching/feedback, manage dynamic change, identify training needs to enhance skill sets, and conduct career path discussions and progression planning.
  • Identify and reinforce positive leadership behaviors to drive change and raise the bar on performance.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing and communications or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in sales, marketing and communications.
  • Experience and knowledge in the Built Environment.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Providence, RI this ranges from $204,200.00-280,700.00 plus benefits and retirement program. For Chicago, IL this ranges from $213,800.00-294,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program. For Boston, MA and Arlington, VA (DC) this ranges from $227,400.00-$312,700.00 plus benefits and retirement program. For New York City this ranges from $248,800.00-$342,100.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
