Job Description Responsible for unique or complex information systems and/or information technology tasks within more than one discipline, such as application support, database administration, software quality assurance/quality control, software engineering, network telecommunications, and infrastructure operations of administration, analysis, engineering and design.
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain non-virtual and virtual storage solutions for OIT managed hosting environments. Note: This is a separate task from other references of storage within virtualized environments, databases, and Mainframe.
- Assign and initialize online storage volumes, as well as manage online storage thresholds and data archives.
- Provide data migration/archive management and provide documentation support as well as maintenance.
- Backup production systems as well as development systems where needed to backup media and alternate processing/recovery sites as required by OIT backup and recovery policy.
- Monitor backup jobs and provide a periodic Backup Report as requested to management.
- Support service requests for the restoration of data from the backups as required as directed by the designated government lead.
- Process, manage, and resolve all event, warning, alert, as well as alarm messages of the backup jobs and schedules. Contractor shall work with other OIT teams to properly establish automated remediation activities pertaining to storage issues.
- Provide proactive storage capacity management to meet OIT requirements.
- Monitor and control storage performance according to OIT requirements and perform tuning as required.
- Maintain and improve storage resource efficiency in accordance with OIT approved thresholds.
- Provide multiple tiered storage options as well as local storage options where appropriate.
- Decommission storage and backup environment in accordance with OIT policies and procedures at the data centers.
- operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.
- Monitors and responds to storage hardware, software, and network problems.
- Utilizes Storage software and hardware tools, identifies, and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master's Degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.
- 2 years providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements network systems.
- 2 years supporting NetApp Storage solutions.
- 3 years of experience supporting RAID development.
- 2 years providing input to architecture teams on file-based protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, TFTP, and HTTP to support network storage.
- 2 years providing input to architecture teams on block-based protocols such as Fibre Channel (FC), Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and iSCSI.
- 3 years of experience in the building and design of storage networking and shared storage Environments.

Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
