Job Description:
What you get to do:
  • Supervise the daily operation for running of crews for Venues/Shows and/or Consumer/Special Events; including scheduling or work calls, running crew work calls/stage shows/event operation, following up on task assignments for cast and crew, prioritizing task lists for work calls, etc.
  • Update and track all technical aspects of Production Schedules and task requirements.
  • Mentor staff to maintain successful team-oriented productivity.
  • Provide over-all logistical support for the entire Entertainment Department and warehouse.
  • Update and follow the production schedule, prep assets for installation, safety training, safety training tracking, equipment inspections. Inventory control and asset tracking, storage and organization of assets, vehicle cleanliness and maintenance, props and theming, strike and distribution/storage, repair/refurbishment of Department assets for Stage show and Consumer Events equipment,
  • Ensure the safety of all Team Members as well as ensuring that all team members are getting required safety training and are using proper PPE.
  • Supervise areas to include but not limited to; technicians, events cast, costume/dresser staff , daily hours reporting, overtime requests, deviation/sign in sheets, Theatrical and Consumer Events technical systems, theater safety, facility maintenance and cleanliness, monitor technical elements as they affect show quality, scheduling and participating in or running rehearsals, daily meetings and information dissemination, team member development, team member record keeping, inventory & procurement of equipment, materials and supplies, create & implement SOPs for assigned shows / area as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards throughout all assigned tasks, special events and show positions
  • Maintain the artistic and technical integrity of shows and events.
  • Act as front-line management representative & a liaison with Entertainment Technical, Production and Operational Entertainment Management Staff.
  • Coordinate Special Shows and Entertainment requirements for events or in other venues as needed
  • Assist with Entertainment activities and special events in other facilities outside of the park as needed.
  • Submit weekly reports to Managers detailing all show and event related issues and maintenance that has occurred during the week.
  • Cover for other Stage Managers/Technicians as needed on their days off, vacation, absences etc.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Must submit a resume to be considered for this position
  • College Degree (preferred), theater or related field, equivalent experience in theater or entertainment related discipline
  • Minimum 2-4 years practical Stage Management experience or a similar combination of technical management or crew lead experience
  • Knowledge of Stage Venues as well as Consumer Events/Logistics. Advanced Technical strength in at least one of the following with intermediate knowledge of other technical disciplines, including but not limited to; Audio systems, Theatrical lighting, Scenic/Theming Construction/Installation, Signage and Dcor, Rigging, Carpentry, Theatrical Staging, Electrical Distribution, Special Effects, etc.
  • Hands on capability to operate technical equipment, troubleshoot technical problems, and follow standard safe work practices.
  • Display proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Able to work under pressure and direct personnel under ambiguous or uncertain stressful conditions.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills successfully interacting in a positive manner with various entertainers, technicians, outside contractors, entertainment and park staff, and personnel from other departments or corporate teams.
  • Able to recognize behavioral issues within the team that need to be addressed and handle them in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Flexible schedule to include working daytime, evenings, late night, overnight, weekends and holidays
  • Understand and enforce the use of proper safety protocols and safety systems, be able to properly inspect and document inspections and operation of safety sensitive equipment or procedures and enforce the consistent use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions several times throughout a scheduled shift, inside and outside, wet, windy, cold, hot or humid weather, bright, dark, elevated or cramped conditions, ability to stand, sit or walk for up to more than an hour at a time, be able to bend, stoop, work in varying ground or flooring conditions, climb stairs and ladders, utilize personal protective gear and to be able to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in environment with atmospheric effects such as fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubble, snow and scents.
  • Based on the work being performed, employees will be fit tested to wear a P95 or N95 respirator mask as needed. As part of this requirement, and OSHA regulation, employees MUST be clean shaven for the mask to properly seal to face. Employees are required to shave as needed to perform this type of work and should come to work prepared.
  • Willing to be trained to operate trucks (non-CDL), forklifts/lulls, high-reach lifts, etc. Able to obtain a valid driver license with proof of insurance and able to meet SEA driving guidelines. Must be willing to acquire FDOT certification/health test to drive box truck on public roads, if needed.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, display respect for others, perform all duties with a positive attitude and demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, be willing to increase their personal development, and positively influence employees and vendors/contractors and display strong guest service skills.
  • Provide technical support and service for Venues/Events or for other departmental needs. Perform other functions as directed by management for the good of the Department and Park.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Park/Department policies and procedures.
What else is important:
  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout work shift
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to a variety of weather conditions
  • Perform the following physical activities on a frequent basis; stand, walk, climb, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead and reach overhead, simple grasp and fine manipulation tasks
  • Perform all cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Promote and ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and fellow ambassadors
  • Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
