For more information, visit:www.gpinet.comResponsibilities:Perform roadway and bridge design tasks under the guidance of senior engineersApply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documentsWork in a team environment to develop contract drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCADPrepare technical design documentation, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and specificationsReview submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documentsGain valuable experience in the design of roadway geometrics, intersections, sidewalks/trails, pavement design, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and work zone traffic control.Develop the knowledge required to produce design and construction documents for new and rehabilitated bridges using AASHTO and NYSDOT specifications.Participate in job site visits and attend project meetingsReview and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverablesInterface with other technical disciplinesQualifications:BS Civil Engineering from an accredited university0 to 4 years of experience on transportation projects within New York State including roadways, bridges, and trailsNew York State Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate preferredMaster of Science with concentration in structural/bridge engineering beneficialCompetent use of relevant software such as MS OfficeShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionallyMust have a positive mindset and a good work ethic with a desire to learn and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.Good writing and communication skills a plusRequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while workingMinimum Salary: 55000.000 Maximum Salary: 65000.000 Salary Unit: Yearly
