DESCRIPTION

The CMM Operator operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs to determine acceptance or rejection. Evaluates parts against standards by reviewing blueprints and schematics and using measuring tools. Assists in the preparation of and performs ISO 9001 internal audits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and/or edit programs for inspection of tooling and parts
  • Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements
  • Operate precision machinery as needed
  • Produce easily understood, visually appealing inspection reports that include well-written descriptions, 3D pictures, data tables, etc.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in clean and orderly conditions, following prescribed safety regulations inside and outside plants
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain continuity between coworkers and/or shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Document actions by completing production timesheets
  • Accomplish organizational and group goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with inspection software is strongly preferred
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges required
  • Understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CATIA, ENOVIA, and GD&T required
  • Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law
  • Ability to pass a drug test in compliance with the law
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicants should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. government

  • Critical thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Coordination: adjusting actions as a response to the actions of others
  • Judgment and decision making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
