Job Description:
The entry level controls drafter position at Zeeco will utilize AutoCAD to create electrical drawings and P&ID drawings for Flare systems. The drafter will take markups, designs and blueprints from the engineering team and generate project drawing packages that include enclosure layout drawings, schematic and wiring details, bill of materials, loop drawings, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and more. This position will report to the controls engineering manager and work alongside with other controls drafters, senior drafters/designers and controls engineers.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Drafting or equivalent combination of experience.
Experience with creating and editing drawings in AutoCAD
General knowledge of industrial electrical, instrumentation and control systems
Job Duties:
This is an entry level position that performs drafting duties for electrical and control systems on combustion equipment.
Prepares various drawings of electrical and control systems including enclosures, junction boxes, wiring schematics, logic diagrams, P&ID's etc.
Utilizes AutoCAD or equivalent software to convert drawings markups, written instructions, etc. drawings that can be used for fabrication, procurement and customer approval.
Makes arithmetic computations using standard formulas and premade tools.
Assignments may include information on methods, procedures, sources of information, precedents to follow, and more detailed written or verbal instructions from project engineer and/or supervisor. Simple revisions to existing drawings may be assigned with a verbal explanation of desired results.
Assists controls engineer in ensuring all required drawings are completed and meets project requirements. Assists with reviewing customer mark-up prints and disposition of comments.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word / Excel / Teams, PDF software, and all Web based systems for design completion.
Check own and other Drafter/Designer's drawings for accuracy.
